Measures for employees
Customer contact allowed only with a mask that covers the nose and mouth
Even if regulations by the federal government are relaxed in future, all employees with customer contact must wear a mask that covers the nose and mouth during 2020/21 winter season in the tourism region of Vorarlberg according to state ordinance.
In working areas free from customer contact (e.g. workshop, kitchen, laundry, offices, etc.), a minimum distance of 1 metre is required between employees. If this distance cannot be safely maintained, a mask that covers the nose and mouth is required.
The health of employees is checked regularly and consistently: This starts with a PCR test before the first day on duty and continues with weekly tests and daily temperature measurements before the start of work.
For the winter season, the free PCR testing programme will be extended for the following tourism sectors: private room rentals, gastronomy, camping, youth hostels, ski instructors and mountain guides.
The State of Vorarlberg supports ‘initial tests’ for employees of cable car, ski rental, or taxi companies in the winter sports regions prior to their first day of service.
In addition, the range of tests offered in the destinations will be further expanded and concentrated.
Internal company contact data collection (contact tracing)
The collection of contact data for employees on duty is recommended so that in the event of an infection, the pool of people who might also be infected can be quickly identified and kept small. It is up to each company to decide how to implement this, e.g. via duty rosters, keycards or the use of digital contact tracing solutions such as the digital guest book.
