The “Corona traffic light” system
The traffic light system introduced by the Austrian Federal Government ensures maximum safety for the people living in Vorarlberg and all our guests.
It uses the colours green, yellow, orange und red, to indicate which preventive measures should be used at the regional level. The traffic light system is purely an instrument of management and prevention to protect everyone’s health. It recommends courses of action for certain regions or institutions: wearing protective masks that cover the nose and mouth, rules on social distancing, maximum number of people, tests, follow-up, and so forth. Those recommendations help minimise the risk of infection to a great extent.
However, as a guest in Vorarlberg, you are subject to the traffic light regulation of the Vorarlberg provincial government.
The Austrian Federal Government has also already presented its package of measures. The Federal Government’s “Guide to Safe Winter Tourism” contains industry-specific regulations for gastronomy, accommodation, cable cars, ski schools and Advent and Christmas markets. There are plans to extend the “Safe Hospitality” test programme to include ski instructors, travel guides, and tourist guides.
The most important points from the package of measures are:
In principle, a safe distance of at least one metre must be maintained from persons who do not live in the same household. This also applies to closed rooms in public spaces.
